Shape your Strategy

Volunteers are vital to our State’s health, and prosperity. When one person volunteers, many more benefit. Volunteers feel happier, healthier and socially connected while communities become stronger, more resilient and inclusive.

The NSW Volunteering Strategy 2020-2030 wants to see more people volunteer, people stay volunteers for longer and volunteers feel valued and recognised. The strategy wants to support organisations to engage and encourage their volunteers.

The development of the Strategy was made possible by the participation of many in the volunteering community in NSW who shared their knowledge with us. Involved in its development were:

  • NSW peak body for volunteering, The Centre for Volunteering
  • NSW peak body for sport, Sport NSW
  • 1204 individuals who completed the online survey
  • 62 volunteer involving organisations and NSW Government agencies who participated in consultations

We would like to thank all who participated in this process. A summary of the consultations can be found here.
